The women of Dresden will be in the spotlight for a special event next month.

Noting that history often focuses on the accomplishments of men, the Catherine McVean IODE is hosting an evening celebrating Dresden’s HERstory will recognize the remarkable women who made up Dresden’s past.

The evening will feature historical costume designer and re-enactor Lisa Gilbert, who will be playing the role of the IODE’s founder Catherine McVean; a historical overview talk by Dresden historian Marie Carter; and a mini art show including the works of female artists from the Dresden Archives.

The event takes place Wednesday, June 8th from 7-9pm at the Rotary Wheelhouse in Dresden. Admission is by donation to the Dresden Archives.
