Local farmers and food producers will have to contact London instead of Chatham for Canadian Food Inspection Agency requests come 2020. 
The local branch, located on Centre Street in Chatham will be shuttered as of December 31.
According to CFIA Director of Operations Charlene Bevan, field crops, seed facility, fertilizer, and livestock feed inspections were all offered in Chatham.
Officials say there will be no impacts to service by the closure.
