Chatham-Kent residents should expect to see changes to water and wastewater rates in 2026.
The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission (PUC) intends to submit a revision to the Water and Wastewater Rates By-law to amend certain fees at its next regular public meeting on January 15.
Under municipal by-laws, the PUC is required to publish notice of the changes at least 14 days ahead of the meeting. Anyone attending the meeting will be provided the opportunity to speak on the matter.
The PUC has not released specifics on the rate changes, however, the most recent projections indicate that the combined water/wastewater bill for local residents will increase by around $112 each year until 2034.
