The province is changing the way nursing programs are offered at the college level.

Colleges will now be able to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, without having to partner with a university.

“This is terrific news for students and health-care professionals in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent,” St. Clair College President Patti France says in a news release.

“Lambton College is very well prepared for this and has the capacity to deliver the entire program.  This is outstanding news for Lambton College students and health-care professionals in our community,” says Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College. It will make nursing more attractive for students who wish to study and pursue their careers in our community, rather than relocating for a portion of the program.”

Providing students with the option to complete their nursing degree program in one community reduces the costs for students and government, and makes nursing programs more attainable for many students.
