The provincially-appointed supervisor overseeing changes at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance wants to ensure Wallaceburg residents their hospital is safe.
Rob Devitt says along with improving how the organization runs, there also needs to be a change in attitudes and preconceived notions.
“For so long the folksĀ in Wallaceburg felt under siege in terms of their hospital that the challenge is having people truly believe now there is a different vision for that campus,” says Devitt. “That’s the hardest part, I get that and I think it will take time.”
The Alliance has made several investments into the Sydenham Campus over the last few months, most recently the addition of a respiratory therapist working out of the emergency department.
