A Quebec truck driver is facing charges following a crash near Chatham.
A transport lost control in the construction zone near Drake Road yesterday morning, hit a road sign, and came to rest in the ditch.
The driver, who wasn’t hurt, has since been charged with careless driving.
The westbound lanes were closed for about an hour as police cleared the scene.
Police are urging drivers to take extra care in construction sites – there are more than 200 projects underway on roads and bridges across the province.
Give yourself plenty of time and patience if you’re heading through an area where work is being done. If you’re caught speeding in a construction site where workers are present, the fine for speeding is doubled.
