Two people are facing charges after leaving the scene of a crash on the 401.
The investigation began last Wednesday – OPP officers were called to a crash on the 401 near Charing Cross Road around 10:15 that night.
However, when they arrived at the scene, police found an empty vehicle in the centre median and footprints in the snow.
The two occupants were later found, but authorities say that while speaking to the driver, officers detected the smell of fresh marijuana.
The 29-year-old Toronto man is now facing a slew of charges, including drug possession, obstruction, driving while suspended, careless driving, and three counts of failing to comply with a court order.
A female passenger, a 23-year-old Barrie woman, is also facing drug charges.
