Charges have been laid against a man accused of shoplifting.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, the accused went into a Queen Street store just before 11:30 last night and shoved about $200 in merchandise into a duffle bag – authorities say he set off the security alarm going out the door.
He was stopped by officers in the parking lot, who had been investigating a separate incident involving a friend of the accused.
The 20-year-old is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
