Charges have been laid in connection with a domestic dispute this past weekend.
On Saturday, Chatham-Kent Police were informed about an altercation between a man and his wife, in which the man allegedly assaulted the woman at their home in Chatham. Investigators say there was a history of abusive behaviour directed towards the victim.
Officers were finally able to track down the man late last night.
The 29-year-old is now charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and assault.
He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
