An annual charity golf tournament has raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of Chatham-Kent’s hospital.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s (CKHAF) 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held at Maple City Country Club on June 7, raising $120,095.
The annual summer fundraiser attracted 136 golfers and was made possible through the support of over 30 volunteers, including the event’s planning committee.
“For a charity golf tournament to net over $120,000, it speaks volumes about the generosity of this community and the number of local organizations and community members who are passionate about supporting our hospital,” said foundation President and CEO Christine Mitchell in a news release.
The funds raised will go towards the highest priority needs at the hospital’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites, such as life-changing equipment and facility upgrades.
Last year’s tournament raised $131,245, which went toward the purchase of a new Operating Room surgical table with bariatric extensions at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
