A summer charity golf tournament will help to fund a new community garden behind Wallaceburg’s health centre.

Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres (CKCHC) has been selected as the recipient of funding, which will be raised during the third annual CK Charity Classic in August of 2023.

The health centre will use the funding to launch a $14,000 wheelchair-accessible community garden behind its Wallaceburg site.

Additional funds raised during the golf tournament will also benefit the Victim Services and Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent.

This past summer, the CK Charity Classic raised more than $21,000, which was divided between the Blenheim Youth Centre and ROCK Missions.

The inaugural tournament in 2021 brought in $10,600, which was shared between eight local organizations and programs.

Next year’s event will be held at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club on August 12, 2023.
