A married couple from Chatham was shocked to find out they had won more than half a million dollars in a recent lottery draw.
Sharon and Robert Nicholson took home $533,748.30 after winning a Lotto Max second prize on January 7.
“I handed the ticket to the store clerk, and Big Winner appeared on the terminal with a lot of numbers,” she told OLG. “I didn’t think much of it until the clerk said, ‘You’re a big winner!’ I stood there in shock.”
The couple, who are regular lottery players, plan to share the money with their children and grandchildren and do some work around their house.
“This is a family win,” they said.
