A Chatham family is again appealing to the local community as they attempt to find a compatible bone marrow match for their ailing son.
Ethan Hunter was first diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma T-cell leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August 2022. While the 16-year-old’s cancer went into remission in December 2023, it has since returned and his only hope is a bone marrow transplant.
The family held an initial swab drive on Saturday and will be holding another clinic on August 17 in the hopes of finding a compatible match.
The swab drive will take place from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham. Anyone between the ages of 17 and 35 is eligible to register.
