Mr. and Mrs. Goodfellow, Richard and Bonnie Regnier.

The Chatham Goodfellows are once again working to ensure no child goes without a Christmas.

The organization held its annual general meeting and awards ceremony last night, officially kicking off its 68th festive campaign.

Terry Vogler Trucking was honoured with the Presidents Award. The company has been helping the Goodfellows for the past eight years but stepped up even further during the pandemic to help store all of the organization’s refrigerated and frozen products while packing food baskets for those in need.

The Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to the Morlog family, who have been helping the Goodfellows for over 50 years, volunteering for the Porchlight and Street Sales campaigns, food and toy packaging and delivery, as well as and overhauling the way receipts are prepared and issued.

Richard and Bonnie Regnier have been named 2022’s Mr. and Mrs. Goodfellow. The couple has been involved with the Chatham Goodfelows for over 20 years and officials say help out however they can, from helping to sort food donations, gathering banana boxes, and ensuring all the volunteers for Porch Light and food packing/delivery are well fed.

New applications for toy or food baskets can be submitted from November 7 to December 2 by calling 519-354-1146 between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

The annual Porchlight campaign will take place November 28, followed by Street Sales on December 9 and 10.

Toy packing will take place December 12-15 at the former Monsignor Uyen Catholic School on Lark Street, with delivery set for December 19.

Food packing and delivery will take place at the Spirit and Life Centre on December 20.

Donations to the No Child Without a Christmas campaign can be mailed to P.O. Box 114 Chatham ON N7M 5K1 or by e-transfer at donate @chathamgoodfellows.ca to receive an automatic receipt.
