The CK Charity Classic will be hosting an 18-hole golfing tournament to raise money for local charities.

The tournament at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club starts at 10:00 a.m. on August 6 and will feature prizes, drinks, food, and contests at every hole.

President of Chatham-Kent Charity Classic, Erin Dickinson, says she is looking forward to the tournament.

“It’s going to be a really fun day. We have a great lineup of people that are coming out to play, its a great networking opportunity, and you get to meet some other cool people from CK and see some friends you maybe haven’t seen in a while.”

There will be alcohol samples available from Red Barn Brewing Company and Bayside Brewery along with several sample cocktail stations. This year’s tournament sponsor JMHI Insurance will be giving each golfer a Yeti cup, and golf towels will be given out from partner Business Social Network.

Participants will receive two alcohol drink tickets, a pulled pork lunch, and steak dinner. A banquet and silent auction will follow the tournament.

The event is supporting both Blenheim Youth Centre and ROCK Missions. The Blenheim Youth Centre will be getting a much-needed re-vamping of their yard from the funds, and ROCK Missions will be able to expand to outer areas of Chatham-Kent.

“All the money that we raise goes towards the actual projects, to the expansion for ROCK Missions and the yard in the Blenheim Youth Centre. You’re actually helping support the projects that we are working on for them.” says Dickinson.

Last year’s tournament supported groups including Kent Havoc Rugby, Salvation Food Bank, and Blenheim’s Wish Centre with just over $10,000 raised.

Dickinson says this year’s event is expected to bring in a significantly larger amount of money.

Those looking to participate can register on Eventbrite and use the promo code CKSAVE30 to reduce registration fees $300 per team or $75 per player.

Prizes of free team admission, 75% off, and 50% off can be entered until August 1 or tickets sell out.
