Another Chatham-Kent resident has lost their life to COVID-19.
Officials with CK Public Health say a man in his 90s succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of lives lost in Chatham-Kent since the pandemic began to 58.
Overall, 29 new infections are being confirmed today, with the seven-day average dropping to 15 new cases a day.
A COVID outbreak at the Meadows of Wheatley has been declared over with a total of 22 cases since February 14th. There are still active outbreaks at Maple City Retirement Residence, Wallaceburg Retirement Residence, and the medicine unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
There are 15 patients with COVID-19 at the Health Alliance, five of whom are being treated primarily for the virus.
Across Ontario 751 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 241 of whom are in intensive care.
