Slick roads have been keeping Chatham-Kent Police busy.

Through the day on Wednesday, officers responded to multiple collisions, including a head-on crash on Creek Road when a northbound vehicle failed to navigate a bend in the road and collided with a southbound vehicle. Minor injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver of the northbound vehicle has been charged with careless driving.

Just over an hour later, the driver of a vehicle on Kenesserie Road lost control and hit a hydro pole. Luckily the driver was not hurt nor was the hydro pole damaged.

A Dresden man has been charged after a hit and run on St Clair Street during which a southbound vehicle turned onto St Clair Street from Emma Street and hit another vehicle. The driver fled the scene, but a passenger’s video helped identify the vehicle. A 68-year-old man has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision and making an improper turn.

And shortly before 6:30, a vehicle slid off Kent Bridge Road in Rushton’s Corners while trying to avoid hitting a passing vehicle. The driver did not suffer any physical injuries, and the passing vehicle could not be identified.
