The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is reminding residents that as of tomorrow, September 22, 2021 people in Ontario will need to provide proof of vaccination to access certain businesses and settings.
The measure was announced by the government on September 1st in an effort to help further protect the Province from Covid-19 and the Delta variants.
Specified businesses and organizations are responsible for ensuring they meet the requirements requiring patrons providing proof of identification and full vaccination against COvid-19 (or entitlement to an exemption) as outlined in the Provincial Regulations.
A number of Provincial offences officers are designated with the authority to enforce all orders under the legislation and they include CK Public Health, Chatham-Kent By-Law Enforcement and Chatham-Kent Police Services as well as regulatory officers from several Provincial ministries and agencies.
Chatham-Kent citizens who have concerns about businesses or patrons not following the vaccine passport legislation can report concerns via phone or email for investigation.
The number is 519-360-1998 or Covid19enforcement@chatham-kent.ca
Chatham-Kent Police Services would like to remind everyone that 9-1-1 is for emergencies only.
