Chatham-Kent could be just the right spot for growing ginger.
That’s according to Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope who says Chinese investors are interested in growing the plant here.
Ginger is a prime ingredient in Chinese cooking, but there are also a lot more benefits that ginger provides. Naturopathic doctors use ginger in many remedies including a cancer preventative.
Hope says they are currently doing studies to see if the soil in Chatham-Kent is right for ginger.
