Chatham-Kent will be receiving a $2.1 million dollar dividend from Entegrus.
The electricity and water provider approved a special dividend of $3 million to its shareholders—of which Chatham-Kent is the largest, after taking in the proceeds of an easement they sold to Hydro One along the former Canada Southern Rail line.
At tonight’s council meeting, council will decide on whether to transfer the $2,144,805 dividend to the Hydro One Community Benefit Reserve, which is recommended by Chatham-Kent administration. The reserve has been used for recreational and cultural purposes within Chatham-Kent.
