A Chatham-Kent woman has died following a boating accident in northern Ontario.

North Bay OPP say two people drowned after a canoe capsized on Legrou Lake in East Mills Township.

The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Stephanie Imeson of Chatham-Kent and 27-year-old Derek Comartin of Stoney Point.

Two other people in the canoe managed to swim to shore.

One of the two victims was located by neighbouring cottagers. Life saving techniques were attempted but authorities say the person was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.
