A Chatham retiree is $100,000 richer following a recent lottery windfall.
Robert Dubé, a long-time lottery player, won the top prize after purchasing a $5 Instant Bingo Doubler ticket at Lucky 7 Variety on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.
The 82-year-old father of three and grandfather of three said he called his daughter one evening, asking if she could come over to check his ticket.
“I wasn’t sure whether I’d gotten all the numbers,” said Dubé. “When my daughter came over and confirmed my win, she was overwhelmed with happiness and cried tears of joy.”
Dubé said he plans to share his winnings with family and continue a hobby that brings him joy — building homes out of LEGO.
