Chatham Man Charged For Damaging Courthouse Phone Lines

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged after damaging supply boxes including the phone lines at the Chatham-Kent courthouse.
Courthouse staff reported the phone lines down on September 17th. Bell Canada attended the location and determined that the supply boxes had been damaged.
With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the man responsible.
The accused was arrested and charged with mischief over $5000 and failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was released pending a future court date.
