Assault charges have been laid against a Chatham man accused of spitting on a motel employee.
Authorities say the man and his brother tried to rent a room at the Flamingo Motel on Grand Avenue East earlier this week, but were refused service.
A few days later, the two were walking past the establishment when the accused and a staff member got into a dispute.
The 25-year-old will be in court next month to face the charges.
