Chatham-Kent police are investigating a fatal collision involving a VIA Rail passenger train, and a pedestrian Thursday night in Chatham.
They tell us about 9 pm the train struck a pedestrian in the area of Bloomfield Road near Queens Line.
The train was traveling Westbound from Toronto to Windsor when it struck a man police say was lying in the middle of the crossing.
The victim, a 38 year old Chatham man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The traffic unit has taken over the investigation.
