Ribfest opens in Chatham today and organizers are hoping the weather won’t keep crowds away.
Doug Hillier says it’s always been a very popular weekend.
“So far we have been hit with at least one day of bad weather when we’ve been doing this, and one weekend almost all bad weather,” Hillier says. “30,000 has been our average, but we’re really wanting that this weekend will be the 50,000 one that really pushes it over.”
The event in Tecumseh Park features five ribbers, entertainment, vendors and carnival rides.
