Assault and threat charges have been laid following an incidentĀ involving an irate shopper at a Chatham business.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at a King Street West retail store at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday and found an employee visibly upset following an altercation with a customer.
According to witnesses and audio evidence, a customer threatened and spat on the employee after being refused service due to insufficient funds.
As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was located and arrested. She has been charged with uttering threats and assault, and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
