A Chatham woman is calling a recent lottery win “bittersweet” after losing her husband just a few months prior to taking home the $100,000 windfall.

Dollena Mcinnes matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order to win the December 23, 2023 Lottario draw.

Mcinnes said she and her husband used to play the lottery together weekly before he passed.

“I really wish he was able to be here with me to see this. He would be so happy,” she said. “This is a bittersweet moment for me.”

The 81-year-old retiree said she checked her ticket a few days after the draw on the OLG app.

“I used my daughter’s phone and found out I was a big winner. I was numb! My children were all beyond happy for me,” she said.

Mcinnes said this is the first time she has won the lottery after playing for over 30 years and she currently has no plans for her winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at the CNIB Kiosk in Walmart on Dougall Avenue in Windsor.
