A Chatham woman is Europe-bound after winning $50,000 in a recent lottery draw.

Maria Therese Bailey chose her own winning numbers for the Daily Keno 8 Pick in the June 28 Midday draw.

“I checked the winning numbers online and then double-checked them at the store. I thought to myself, ‘Am I seeing this correct?’ and then realized, yes this is happening,” Therese Bailey said in a news release.

Even her husband questioned if it was real, she said.

While picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, Therese Bailey said she plans to use the money to take a trip to Europe.

The winning ticket was purchased at Delta Variety on Horner Avenue in Etobicoke.
