Two women are facing trafficking charges following a drug raid in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Wellington Street West on August 1.
Authorities seized suspected Fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine with an estimated value of more than $6,000. Another $680 worth of Canadian cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
As a result, a 31-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman are both charged with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 36-year-old is additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order and was remanded into custody following a bail hearing. The 31-year-old has since been released with conditions and a future court date.
