A 34-year-old Chatham man is facing charges following an ill conceived scheme.
Sometime late Friday or early Saturday morning, somebody broke into a Creek Road business causing about $200 damage and stealing about $3000 in property.
Then yesterday, police were called to Money Mart on St. Clair Street as a man was attempting to cash a cheque stolen from that business.
Bradley Spiers is facing charges of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000, fraud under $5000 and uttering a forged document. He was released pending a future court date.
