Cherry Fest fills the streets in downtown Blenheim this weekend. 
Organizer JP Huggins says the annual Cherry Fest kicks off this afternoon with lots of events, including some interactive displays.
“Some amazing shopping going down already,” Huggins says. “Food vendors selling all things cherry, we’ve got live entertainment from dance studios and dance companies, we’ve got buskers and singing going on.”
Of course Cherry Fest wouldn’t be complete without rides all weekend long and the annual cherry pit spitting competition on Saturday.
Huggins says they’re also hoping to set a world record with this year’s pit spit.
