The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation has surpassed expectations with a recent festive fundraiser that helped to honour lost loved ones over the holidays.

The 34th annual Christmas Wish Tree campaign launched in late November and ran throughout the holiday season, raising a grand total of $170,375.

“It has been such a privilege to witness the generosity of this wonderful community throughout the holiday season in support of our Christmas Wish Tree campaign,” stated Christine Mitchell, foundation president and CEO, in a news release. “It takes a special, thoughtful, and caring community to cultivate a cherished local fundraiser like this over so many years, and that’s exactly what we have here in Chatham-Kent.”

This annual fundraiser encourages community members to make donations in memory of loved ones. This season’s campaign saw donors honour more than 500 family members. Two Christmas Wish Trees were also lit at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) in December as a symbolic way to honour those individuals throughout the holiday season.

Proceeds raised during the campaign will be invested in life-changing equipment, program innovation, and facility upgrades at CKHA.
