Cigarette Burns And Bear Spray

Two women have been charged after one was burned by a cigarette and the other was attacked with bear spray.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a residence somewhere in Chatham at around 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday after two women assaulted each other.

According to police, one woman extinguished a cigarette on the other’s face, and the injured woman responded by using bear spray on her attacker.

As a result, a 34-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman, both from Chatham, have been charged with assault with a weapon. The 34-year-old has additionally been charged with administering a noxious substance.

The pair will answer the charges in court next month.
