As the next municipal tax deadline approaches on Friday, staff will be reopening the doors of the Civic Centre in Chatham.

A secure drop box remains outside the King Street West building for documents and payments for things like taxes, water and hydro bills, permits, and fines.

However, anyone who needs to make a debit payment or wants to deliver their documents by hand can now go inside, as of 8:30 Friday morning.

Customers will have to answer a few screening questions and sanitize their hands before entering the building. Counter guards and social distancing floor decals have also been added to protect the public and staff.

Regular office hours will resume on Monday.

Meantime, Chatham’s ServiceOntario office on Grand Avenue East is slated to reopen on Monday, July 20th.

The municipal office and ServiceOntario counter in Dresden will reopen August 4th.
