With a grand opening expected in early June, officials are putting the final touches on the new Chatham-Kent Animal Shelter.
Project Coordinator Lynn McGeachy Schultz says volunteers were on hand working on the landscaping this morning, and things are really coming together.
“This is one of the last steps in our journey to be able to share the building with the community. We have some work to do still but then we’re good to go,” says McGeachy Schultz.
McGeachy Schultz says the animals will be moved one-by-one into the new facility over the next few weeks.
