Like most sectors of the economy the real estate market has taken a major hit during this pandemic.
April was a record setting month for Chatham-Kent, and not in a good way.
According to the numbers released by the local association of Realtors, only 65 units changed hands last month.
That’s a 42.5 per cent drop from April 2019 the biggest drop for the month in 3 decades.
The 83 listings in April showed a 55 per cent drop year to year.
But on a bright note the average price went up 11 per cent to nearly $289,000.
The first 4 months of 2020 compared to last year shows a decline of just 3.1 per cent.
