The Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and Black Mecca Museum have new leadership.
Doug Robbins was recently appointed by the Historical Society as the Executive Director-Curator.
As the former Director of Marketing for the African Heritage Network, Robbins brings a history in tourism, marketing, and business development to the position.
“His proven leadership, dedication to community engagement, and expertise in historical preservation make him the perfect fit for this role. We’re confident that Doug will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to help us further our mission of preserving and promoting Black history in Chatham-Kent and beyond,” said Dorothy Wallace, president of Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and Black Mecca Museum.
Robbins will be responsible for the curation and management of museum exhibits, conducting guided tours, organizing community events, and preserving extensive archival collections. He will also oversee non-profit operations such as grant writing and fundraising.
