An annual celebration of Chatham-Kent’s four breweries is getting some provincial recognition.

BrewFest CK has been named as a finalist for the Culinary Tourism Event of the Year award as part of the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence.

“We are extremely proud of BrewFest CK being named a finalist for Culinary Event of the Year,” said Shannon Paiva, CK’s Supervisor of Tourism Development, in a news release. “This event is so unique due to the collaboration of our four breweries, bringing visitors to the area and elevating the local economy on four separate occasions. It’s incredible to see their efforts recognized.”

BrewFest CK is a collaborative summer event that takes place at all four Chatham-Kent breweries; Sons of Kent, Red Barn, Bayside and Glasstown. The brewery holds its own festival featuring local vendors, businesses, and entertainment, all while celebrating locally brewed craft beer.

Award winners will be announced at the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario Tourism Summit on October 23 in Hamilton.
