The municipality is taking a closer look at some bridges in Chatham-Kent.
Councillor Bryon Fluker is concerned that these bridges – if closed – will cause area farmers to seek other routes to their farms, which could mean that farm vehicles will have to use major roads and highways more often.
Officials will be re-evaluating the 29 bridges on the divestment list to see if some can move onto the investment list – which will mean that funds will be set aside for their repair.
A report on these bridges will come back to council in the coming weeks.
