For the second year in a row, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent has taken home an award for one of its local initiatives.
The Learning, Earning and Living CK Career Expo and Job Fair has been awarded the Workforce Development and Resident Attraction–Urban Award by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO).
The event was recognized during the EDCO President’s Dinner and Awards Ceremony on February 8.
The Learning, Earning, LivingCK Career Expo and Job Fair was held at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on October 18-19, 2023, and featured over 50 local Chatham-Kent employers. The job fair also supported career planning and talent building by engaging local students in Grades 7 to those post-secondary.
Over 2,400 students and 880 jobseekers attended the event.
This marks the second consecutive year Chatham-Kent has taken home an award from EDCO. In 2023, the “Supporting 2SLGBTQ+ People in the Workplace” marketing campaign was awarded first place in the Inclusive Community Based Initiatives & Programming category, during the EDCO Ontario Awards of Excellence.
