The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce will be welcoming new leadership to the organization later this spring.
Rory Ring has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the CK Chamber, effective June 17. He will succeed Gail Hundt, who announced her retirement in March after serving in the role for over 28 years. Her last day will be June 27.
Ring plans to tackle issues of diversity and inclusion in the business community by better engaging and supporting under-represented groups. He wants to address the concerns and needs of diverse employers and employees to ensure welcoming workplaces for all, not only to address current labour market shortages, but to ensure economic prosperity and the future of communities.
“I am honoured to have been selected as the incoming President and CEO of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, and I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of the members, local business community and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent,” said Ring.
For the last eight years, Ring has served as the president and the CEO of Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce and also ran the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce for three years before that.
Ring is also the current chair of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Ontario, the executive board director of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, and a current director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to getting into the Chamber of Commerce profession, Ring was a commercial banker innovation lender.
