A number of local organizations are reaping the benefits of a recent golf tournament.
The 4th annual CK Charity Classic was held at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club on August 10th, raising over $38,000.
Last week, funds were handed out to this year’s beneficiaries, including the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent, which will be using $17,250 to allow 75 more children to receive free books through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
The Suicide Prevention & Education Committee of Chatham-Kent, has been given $10,800 to offer 75 free safeTALK training sessions as well as 20 free ASIST training sessions.
Another $10,300 was given out in “angel gifts” to support several other local causes, including the Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham Kent, Kiwanis Music Festival, and Chatham Kent Public Library Story Kits. Gift cards were also donated to volunteers at both Free Help CK and Loads of Love for their tireless work in response to helping those affected by the fire at 99 McNaughton in Chatham.
Organizers have announce the beneficiaries of the 5th annual CK Charity Classic. The 2025 event will support the Chatham-Kent chapter of the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, FreeHelpCK, and the Mental Health Network of Chatham-Kent in a special partnership with Handy Bros. Home Comfort.
Since its inception, the CK Charity Classic has raised over $102,000, supporting various not-for-profit and charitable organizations.
