A group of Chatham-Kent officials are going to be in Toronto starting Sunday for the annual Rural Ontario Municipal Association, or ROMA Conference.
Wallaceburg representative Carmen McGregor along with David VanDamme and Mayor Randy Hope will be in attendance, speaking with provincial leaders, listening to keynote talks and taking in workshops regarding a wide range of topics including tax assessment, rural education, and more.
“We sometimes need to remind the provincial leaders that there is a province outside of the GTA,” says Mayor Hope. “There can be some tunnel vision at Queen’s Park.”
More than 1,000 rural officials are normally in attendance.
