A pair of local councillors are in Toronto this week representing Chatham-Kent at the annual Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference.

Ward Six representatives Michael Bondy and Alysson Storey, along with a handful of municipal staff, are taking in the three-day event alongside municipal representatives from across the province.

Among the issues at the heart of the conference include rural health care, housing, and infrastructure costs.

The event provides rural municipal leaders with an opportunity to address policy issues, funding concerns, and meet directly with provincial ministers on issues of local importance.

The ROMA conference wraps up Tuesday.
