CK Cop Charged With Assault, Uttering Threats

A Chatham-Kent police officer is facing charges following an on-duty incident.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said Constable Fraser Curtis was arrested on Wednesday and charged with one count of uttering threats and one count of assault.

CK police officials called in the Windsor Police Service to conduct an independent investigation following the incident that took place on June 26 in Chatham. There were no injuries sustained as a result of the on-duty incident.

Constable Curtis, a 14-year member of the CK Police Service, has since been released from custody with conditions and will appear in court on August 20. He has also been placed on administrative duties.

Police are not releasing any further information at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
