CK Council Prepares to Return To In-Person Meetings

Chatham-Kent council will decide tonight whether to return to in-person meetings for the next term of council starting in November.

If council decides to hold public meetings starting in November, it will happen only if it is safe to do so, which will be confirmed by administration a week in advance.

In July, council thought about resuming in-person meetings starting in September, however council asked administration for more information on what the modelling shows for COVID-19 in the fall, with fears that a seventh wave of transmission was to occur.

Since March 2020 when in-person council meetings were suspended due to COVID, all of Chatham-Kent’s meetings have been held online.
