Chatham Kent Council received an interim report from KPMG last night on the base budget review that is being conducted.

The study in which the Provincial government is paying 65 percent of the cost of the through a modernization grant.

As part of the work an employee survey was also sent out to gauge responses across all departments.

Key themes of topics voiced to KPMG including services centres and access to municipal resources from rural communities.

Areas of concern include the planned possible divestiture of bridges and culverts.

Tourism, recreation and libraries received positive feedback from the community.

Benchmarking of CK against other Municipalities were also done as part of the survey.

They went back to 2019 to get a complete set of data to compare against other communities.

The final reports from the Survey are expected in November.
