CK COVID Case Numbers Rise

CK Public health is reporting 17 new COVID-19 cases in the municipality on Tuesday. With nine new recoveries, the active case count increases to 71. One local resident remains in hospital with the virus.

The health unit has also confirmed four new outbreaks, including three at un-named workplace outbreaks and an additional institutional outbreak at Copper Terrace in Chatham.

Meantime, the outbreak at Riverview Gardens is worsening. Another staff member tested positive for COVID on Monday, and because that employee worked on different units, the outbreak now covers the entire building, not just 3 East.

In total, C-K currently has two outbreaks in long-term care, one school outbreak at St. Anne’s in Blenheim, and four workplace outbreaks.
