CK Fire Fighters Reassure Residents Of Local Apartment Building

Crews from Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services spent part of Friday visiting residents of a Merritt Avenue apartment complex where a 40 year old woman lost her life in a fire the week before.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the blaze confirming it was accidental.

The department has a Fire Reassurance Campaign designed especially for people who live in apartment buildings.

It focuses on things like fire safety, evacuations, and when to shelter in place.

It’s also an opportunity for residents to meet face to face with the fire fighters and ask any questions they have.
